Movie Intro - Nightmare

Image
This is my 3rd AICE Media Studies project and I had a blast filming this. Working with this group was a really fun experience and was a little challenging at times. It can be a bit "cringe" with the acting, but you can expect that from some highschool actors. I think with being some armature high schoolers, we did a good job producing an intro to a movie. My friends thought this movie was neat and they enjoyed watching this intro. Thank you for your time watching this, enjoy!

Meeting with Monzur for Editing

Image
Today is hopefully my last day of editing. I went over to Monzur's house to continue editing together. The very first thing I did when I arrived was to download all the clips to my computer since it was filmed on a separate device. The downloading process did not take long but, finding the right clips took a bit longer, since I had some many different shots to look through. After Finding the right clips I deleted the other clips and opened the first part of the opening sequence. After opening the first part I inserted the remaining clips and put them in the correct order. After putting the clips in the right order me and Monzur had to make sure all to turn down the sound for the clips that needed it. The reason for this was because me and my group filmed outside and the wind made it sound very bad. Monzur decided that we should find a different soundtrack for our opening sequence since he did not like the one we previously had. Me and Monzur decided that we should both look for a s

Finishing Touches

After re-shooting some of those shots, I went back to work on editing them. That was an experience of having the police show up on me filming one of my scenes and I am still shocked that happened. The police were really cool about it. I already have a pretty good foundation of film from the last time I was editing. Now, I just need to combine some of the new clips in with what I already have. Firstly, I checked over the new clips I had shot and deleted the old clips that were in the edit from last time. I sorted through the new clips and chose the best ones from the multitude of shots. After filming the last time I met with my group I have had mixed feelings about whether or not the amount of clips I have will come out to be the 2 minutes and 15 seconds. I was scared about not having enough time, but then I would calm myself down and be confident about how much I have filmed. Putting the clips together made me a little tense because the timing was coming down to the wire. Putting in th

Re-Shooting

In my blog titled "More Filming", I stated that I planned to meet up with my group on Sunday, April 3. One of the key actors, Juan, was not able to make it that Sunday, so I called off meeting because we needed him to film. I ended up scheduling for today, April 8 to film after school. It was a professional study day (PSD) at my school, so we got out a little earlier than an early release day. I planned for everyone to meet up at Monzur's house again, as that was where we were filming. I was free after school and my parents were heading out of the house so I was dropped off early at Monzur's house at around 1pm, while I planned for everyone to meet at 4pm. They could only meet at 4 because Juan needed his mom to get home from work to drive him over and Alejandro lives far away from the rest of us. Monzur and I hanged out and discussed what other scenes we needed to finish up and how to film them while waiting for the others to arrive. Alejandro showed up on time, but

Film Review

I showed my video to one of my friends in A level AICE Media Studies. He looked over it a couple times to critique it. He said what we have so far is good. What we were missing though is the music to accompany the film. He said when we enter the music, it would add that sense of realism and add to the theme of being a thriller. He likes how in the film it is like other post-apocalyptic movies and gives the sense of a thriller. One scene he said is a little messy, the scene where the main actor gets attacked by a zombie from around the corner. He gave some feedback on how we can better this scene, being that we could have multiple camera angles of this attack and edit them together so it would capture the scene smoother. This could be another camera on the other side of the action so there could be multiple viewpoints. Other than that, he told me that music would help bring it all together and it looks good to him.

Editing the Clips

Today is April 4th, 2022. This is the first part of editing the clips I filmed so far. Being the director and the editor is turning out to be really helpful. Editing is very easy to me because I have a vision in my head and I am able to bring it to life. I can make the project look almost exactly how I envisioned it in my head. Today, I had to keyframe the roof scene into the scene of Monzur running away from Juan, the zombie. The scene of Juan getting hit had to be sped up, as while filming, Monzur didn't swing the stick hard enough to portray hurting him. I didn't have the music file saved and I accidentally deleted the music. I didnt have the music file saved on my computer and so I had to go into my YouTube history and filter out the royalty free music that I viewed for the project. It wasnt that difficult finding the music I had used, but having the music along with the narration of Monzur was a difficult task.. Although challenging, a short 10 minutes, and the problem was
