A Little About Me
Hi, my name is Keith. At school, I am committed to my academics and to my sports. I strive to be a straight A student and I take pride in the work I do. My sports are swimming and water polo and I am on track with possibly getting a scholarship for swimming. I have been the captain of the water polo team my freshman and sophomore year, along with just getting elected captain for the swim team this year. My dad has been the assistant coach at my high school for about 11 years and since then, I would go to the high school pool after elementary and middle to workout with the high schoolers. Because of this, I know the game very well and am a decently fast swimmer. Last year's high school water polo season, I made the Miami Herald's First Team All County as a sophomore. Miami Herald's newspaper takes all of the high school athletes in every sport and chooses the best of the county to be on an imaginary "first team" to be the best team. Out of school, I attend a Presbyterian Church and am in the church's choir and yearly musicals. I was also just elected captain of that to sort of lead them in the mornings before we sing in the service. After high school, I want to go to the Coast Guard Academy to become a pilot. While I'm there, I want to major in mechanical engineering. I will also become a captain after I finish the Academy and most likely progress through ranks in the years after. If I do not get into the Coast Guard Academy the year after high school, I will enroll in the Maritime Academy, so then I can transfer to the Coast Guard Academy after a year in the Maritime. If all else fails, I will go to a college such as UCF or Clemson because I might have a Bright Futures Award that gives me a full ride to any college in Florida. Clemson is not in Florida, but that is where my sister lives and where my parents are going to move after I am done with high school, so I would be close to them. Since I was in elementary school, I have wanted to go to the Coast Guard Academy because my sister went to the AIM Program. This is an introductory course to the actual Academy that students take the summer after their Junior year, but before their Senior year. After she came back from that and told me the stories from it, I fell in love with that idea and have wanted it ever since.
