Change to the Film
Today is March 14, 2022. I had a change of plans last blog that cost us a day of filming. On that day, instead of filming, we film reviewed. I went over things about our storyboard and script. One major part we decided to change was the part where Merlin has a brother. By removing the identity of the person who knocks on the door, it then makes the film more ominous. The reason to make it such way was simple. The main story and vision I had of the film was meant to be mysterious, suspenseful, and thrilling. When not knowing who the knock came from or what it is, the character has to be jumpy and have their heart racing. This adds variety to the story because if this was an actual short movie, people would create their own theories. Another reason as to why it was removed was because it was not supposed to originally be in the story blog and was a mistake. Having this part removed also lets the actors just focus on their part and have designated parts instead of everyone trying to fill in elsewhere. There will be a designated filmer, main actor, and side actors. Juan on the other hand suggests we keep the part of the brother in the story as he thinks it adds spice to the story and it would let people wonder about what would happen next. But, in the end, the majority of the group decided it would be better to take it out as not knowing who the person is adds the sense of mystery I am aiming for.
