Nightmare Production

My film, Nightmare, takes place in a post apocalyptic era. A boy wakes up to a world where nothing is just quite right and everything is a nightmare. The setting is eerie and suspenseful, so I decided to go for a theme that is considered gloomy. I am not talented enough, nor are my group mates to make our own music for the movie scene, so I decided to look at movies or TV shows that already have sound tracks for something like ours. One TV show that is very popular with the genre I have is The Walking Dead. This TV show has something special that has helped contribute to why it has such a long run time. The different soundtracks for different scenes are perfect for my movie. I emailed the composer Bear McCreary a while back, but I still haven't gotten a response from him. Although I have not heard back from him, I still have other options for music that is copyright free. I looked at other movies theme songs, such as the one from 28 Days Later. I have found that the use of great diegetic sound can really put you in the realism of the movie or show. If I do not hear back from anyone about being able to use their music, I will have to look at royalty free music.
